How are MAUs calculated?

We calculate monthly active users (MAUs) as the number of unique users (based on the unique user IDs you provide) that visit any page of your website where the Lou code snippet is installed, within the past month.

Is there a free trial?

Even better, Lou is completely free to get started and go live with up to 3 experiences. You can sign up and use our Chrome Extension to build and preview experiences right on top of your website. When you're ready to go live, you can publish up to 2 announcements and 1 tour.

Our freemium tier has no time limit, and whenever you want to publish more than 2 announcements or 1 tour, you can upgrade to a paid plan right from our website or contact us for an enterprise plan qoute.

What happens if I exceed my MAU limit?

We've designed our pricing to adjust based on tiers of wide MAU ranges to keep your monthly bill as consistent as possible. However, we frequently work with high growth startups whose user base varies significantly month-to-month. Because of this, we do not restrict or pause your experiences if you exceed your tier's MAU limit.

Instead, we will contact you near the end of your billing period and notify you that your MAU limit was reached. You will then have the option to upgrade to a higher tier limit or remain in your current tier if you suspect the increase in traffic to be temporary.

Can I use Lou for mobile apps or mobile devices?

Lou is designed for browser-based websites. It works with all web applications regardless of the technology used. Lou experiences are fully responsive and with our screen size feature you can even split up an experience into multiple versions that are each optimized for a different screen size.
